Description:

CIVIL WAR-Era Antique ALLEN & WHEELOCK Side Hammer

6-Shot .32 Rimfire Revolver Made Circa 1860

Here we present an antique Allen & Wheelock Side Hammer First Issue .32 Rimfire Revolver, made circa 1860 in Worcester, Massachusetts. There we 3 different variants of this revolver and only 1,000 are thought to have been made total, making this a very scarce little revolver. It was chambered for 6 shots of .32 Rimfire.

The left side of the barrel is marked “ALLEN & WHEELOCK. WORCESTER. MS./ALLEN’S PAT’S. SEPT. 7. NOV. 9. 1858.” It also bears the “JULY 3, 1860” date on the left side of the frame.

The overall condition is fair. The metal surfaces are patinated with legible markings. The serial number is “257” and all numbers match, including the grips. The walnut grips show period wear and are in good condition. The bore is in very good condition. The cylinder axis pin is a replacement and is not retained when the revolver is tipped forward. The action is strong.

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 3 inches.

Caliber: .32 Rimfire

Overall condition as seen in photos.
