41 cal. 2 1/2" bbls have gold bands at breech end with gold plated blade ront sights. Bright finished back action locks have vine type engraving and gold plated borders. Key fastened birdshead grips of fancy hand checkered walnut. 14 karat gold plated fittings include sideplates, trigger guards, trigger plates, trap door butt caps & oval nameplates. 100 gold mounted & 1000 silver mounted sets were issued by the U. S. Historical Society in 1978. Last issue price for the gold mounted set was $2700. both pistols are housed in a book style box with gold & silver finished powder flask, brass tipped short starter, bullet mold, ebony handled turn screw, and nipple wrench. As new condition. Priority mail $25.
