VERY FINE example of a Smith & Wesson Model #3. With the exception of the front site, the gun is 100% complete and correct in every way and remains extremely crisp... This gun is an Unaltered Example of a very Early Large Frame .44 Smith & Wesson "FIRST MODEL AMERICAN". The Serial number is 4056, and that number is clearly stamped in the butt of the revolver. The Serial number is also clearly stamped on the inside the right grip panel. The revolver retains 90% plus Original Nickel Finish showing some minor flaking mixed with a few small patches of lifting on the cylinder. CASE color HAMMER... The grips are very fine with crisp checkering overall. Mechanically Excellent.
Overall this is a really wonderful, VERY FINE Condition and Scarce Example of a Smith & Wesson Model #3, "FIRST MODEL AMERICAN". These early production #3's are extremely Desirable and are Rarely Found in this Condition. Check out this price.
