Description:
Semi-automatic pistol with holster. 5" barrel. Parkerized. This pistol was shipped in 1945 by Ithaca. The pistol's serial number is Ithaca - Model 1911A1 serial number 2125593 - One of 5000 pistols manufactured in the serial number range 2124483-2127082 shipped January 16, 1945 to Transportation Officer - Benicia Ordnance Depot - Benicia, California. Slight holster wear near muzzle. Initials FJA, P and trigger guard stamp marks. RIA and crossed cannon cartouche stamps on right side above trigger and above right grip. The number 40 is painted into the left grip. The riflings are sharp with no defects. Bore is very good with strong rifling. Type 19 Flannery bbl. Early Colt Type E hammer & earlier Type B checkered safety lock tab w/out milling cut. Functions flawlessly.
FJA Proofed on left side above left side showing the ordnance inspectors mark "FJA". This is the mark of Col. Frank J. Atwood. The "P" proofmark is located on the left side of receiver, top of slide and left barrel lug. release.
