Description:
Colt SAA 1st gen 4-3/4” x 38 WCF, 233XXX serial range. Also known as the 38-40. This gun was mfg in 1902. Fine action with all the “clicks on the hammer and about a 7 (that’s conservative, most people would call it an 8) bore as rated on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. All original as far as I can tell except for the rose wood grips. Matching numbers and somewhat of a rare and desirable caliber. You just don’t see that many original 38-40’s very often. The two line barrel address is still clearly present as are the serial numbers and other markings. Overall the metal is just a grayish-silver-brown thin patina. This Colt has been sitting in my safe for over 30 years. I never fired it. I don't buy these 1st generations to shoot, I just collect and enjoy them.
