This is a Colt Detective Special pre War, mfg in 1929 SER # 387,189. Blue all original, nice bore and cyl, action is very good, correct grips early square butt. The Interesting thing about this piece is Its a New Jersey Prison Gun. Letters to New Jersey State Prison July 20 ,1929. Letter included. This piece is all original but in very well used condition as you can see. The Factory engraving on the backstrap is so well done and still looks great. Its one of 55 guns sent there as the letter says.The pictures show the wear and the real charecter of this piece. For a 89 year old gun and all the use its had in the prison wish it could talk.
