Except those listed as Payment Types Accepted: Bank Checks / Money Orders Description: On Hold Pending Funds / German Model 1879 Reichsrevolver with Unit Marking, made by Dreyse, serial # 9788, cal. 11mm German Ordnance, 7" barrel with a good bore that shows oxidation and pitting throughout much of its length but has strong rifling. The metal surfaces are an overall dull grayish patina with some peppery pitting on top of frame, further scattered small spots of light pitting, a few small dings on barrel, scattered silvering, freckling and oxidation staining. The walnut grips rate very good as cleaned with a few dings and handling marks. The left grip panel appears to be numbered "9783" which is likely an error as all other visible parts are matching to the frame. The left side of the frame is dated 1883. The bottom of the grip is marked with a lined-out unit marking that appears to read "13.U.4.2." likely for an Ulan unit and a reissue number "10.A.r.3.16." likely for an artillery unit. Note: The cylinder doesn't always rotate when the hammer is cocked leading me to believe it needs a hand spring that requires mechanical attention to fix. A nice Reichsrevolver with its overall condition as good plus - very good as described and photographed. Inv.: # 12-145 SOLD Antique: Yes |
