EXCELLENT Antique Colt NEW LINE .41 Rimfire Revolver
Mother-of-Pearl & Nickel with Nice Etched Panel!
Here we present an antique Colt New Line .41 Revolver First Model, made in 1875 in Hartford, Connecticut. It was designed to be a stout little pocket-carry revolver, chambered in the relatively large bore .41 Rimfire, very popular for self-defense. Spur Trigger “Suicide Special” manufacture was fierce during this time, and Colt struggled to compete against the countless small shops making very similar, less expensive revolvers, though not necessarily of the same quality. Thus, only about 7,000 of these were ever produced.
The revolver features 5 shots of .41 rimfire. The top of the barrel reads “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD CT USA”. Etched on the left side of the barrel is “COLT NEW 41”. This one features handsome Mother-of-Pearl grips.
The overall condition is excellent. The nickel finish is nearly complete with strong blue on the hammer, trigger, screws, and cylinder axis pin. The markings are clear and legible. The serial numbers match. The bore is clear and bright. The pearl grips are in good condition. The action on this revolver is excellent! Here is a scarce and handsome Colt for your collection!
