EXCELLENT Early-20th Century FRANCOTTE Revolver
Belgian Conceal Carry in 6.5mm Centerfire
Here we present an Auguste Francotte Pocket Revolver, manufactured in Liege in the early 20th Century. The Auguste Francotte Company was one of the largest manufacturers of weapons of Liege during the second half of the 19th Century up until Germany invaded during the First World War.
This pistol was made for pocket concealed carry in early 20th Century Europe. It is very small overall with a partially concealed hammer. The top of the barrel is marked “A. FRANCOTTE A LIEGE.” There are also various Belgian proof marks on the right side of the barrel and frame as well as the back of the cylinder. The capacity of the cylinder is 5 shots of 6.5mm Centerfire. The diameter of the bore and front of the chambers is 6.50mm, the back of the chambers 7.22mm, and the overall length of the cylinder 23.30mm.
The overall condition is excellent. The original nickel finish is 95% intact. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is bright. Original grips are in great shape. The action on this little revolver is excellent. Here is a fascinating little carry revolver from early-20th Century Belgium!
