Description:
This is a very nice third series 1873 Winchester in 38 WCF caliber.  It has a 24' octagon barrel with an almost perfect bore.  The sights are a standard blade at the muzzle and an adjustable Buckhorn at the rear.  The gun is numbered and labled correctly and functions perfectly with all original parts.  The dust cover is tightly fitted and smooth in function.
This gun retains about 40% of its original blue on the receiver and barrel.  The full length magazine has slightly more even patina.
The wood  furniture is sound without any major chips or sturctural cracks.  There are two very noticable cracks on the stock: one on the lower left side and one on the right side running from the receiver.  Neither of these are structural in that they do not go alll the way through  nor do they carry through to the opposite side.
The guns serial number is 476511B revealing a manufacturing date of 1894.  This gun will not require an FFL to ship or receive as it is classified an an antique.
