Long Barrel ODDITY Antique WHITNEYVILLE Revolver
8-Inch Barrel on a Spur Trigger Pocket Revolver!
Here we present an antique Whitneyville Armory Model No. 1-1/2 .32 Caliber Revolver, with an extremely long barrel, made circa the 1870s in Whitneyville, Connecticut. These revolvers are usually equipped with a 3-1/2-inch octagonal barrel, but this specimen boasts 8 inches. The barrel was professionally made and installed, even bearing the correct barrel markings and a matching serial number to the rest of the revolver. This feature certainly makes a 5-shot, .32 caliber pocket revolver very interesting!
The top of the barrel is marked “WHITNEYVILLE ARMORY CT. U.S.A./PAT. MAY 23, 1871”.
The overall condition is very good. Traces of the original finish remain and the metal surfaces are smooth. The markings are clear and legible. The bore is clear and bright. The walnut grips are in good shape. The action on this revolver is excellent.
