Description:
Circa 1790 Valentin Delacroix Flintlock Pistol, Paris France. Overall length 19.75", BBL 14", Heavily engraved specimen. Silver buttplate engraved with centurians on each side, and a prominent lion's head on the bottom. Left side has silver inlay with image of woman wearing a wreath, and 2 serpents. Right side lockplate engraved with images of lion, and soldier sitting on battle drum. Trigger guard engraved. Heavily engraved rib with gold wash that is 90% gone from holster carry. Locks in fine mechanical condition. This is a very fine French Officer's holster gun, with royal coat of arms on grip. Original rod, and stock finish. Hairline crack both right and left side on front of stock. Small chip above butt cap inside grip.
