This carbine has an overall dark plum-brown patina to the metal with mild pinprick pitting present throughout as well as a series of impact marks along the top of the frame and breechblock. Further impact marks carry over onto the breech-end of the barrel as well on and around the replacement fixed rear sight. The sling bar and ring are no longer present on the left side and the top tang has a somewhat jagged and irregular border along the front edge. The walnut stock has an added varnish finish over numerous small handling marks and blemishes but is not broken at the wrist and otherwise is in very good plus condition. The action locks up fairly tightly and is fully functional. This is an about good condition "Grapevine" carbine overall.
