The serial nimber dates to 1887. Metal shows Good to Very Good patina with very little finish left on the underside of the receiver. There is some freckling on the loading gate and on the sides of the receiver. The lever has light pitting. The barrel shows Good patina with some dings on the edges and a little light pitting. The bore is shiny with light pitting apparent and visible rifling. The full length magazine tube has minimal pitting and Good patina. This rifle has uncheckered walnut with a straight grip butt stock with a crescent steel butt plate and a a steel fore end cap. The metal is in nice shape, and the wood does not apper to have been sanded. Traces of the original wood finish are still visible. Sights are a Buckhorn rear and a Blade front.
