Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are over the top proud to offer this spectacular example of Winchester's venerable model 21. This two barrel set is the epitome of an American high grade double. It was custom ordered, and is unique. This gun was made in the year of our Lord 1940. The 30 inch tubes are choked old school, full and full. The short set are WS1 and WS2. They have identical matted solid ribs, same sights, and engraved border at the breach. Unusual for a 21, they are fitted with a splinter forend. The highly figured wood is gorgeous, as is the checkering. It also has ejectors and SST, of course. She locks up tight, and the lever resides to the right of center. The number 4 engraving pattern is wonderful, with great detail that was hard to capture in photos. The trigger guard bears the original owner's initials, LAD. At least, it could refer to the young at heart. The LOP is 13 7/8 inches, if you begin from an imaginary front trigger to the end of the wood, and the pad adds another inch. The fine folks at the Cody Museum verfied all of the features, except the expired leather butt pad has been replaced, and a detailed 2 page letter will be included with the gun. The condition is very good, with all mirror bores and light handling marks throughout. The leather type case is in good shape, with oil bottle and snap caps stowed inside. A canvas cover protects it. While the model 21 was a Johnny-come-lately to the classic double market, they have captured the attention of many a collector, hunter, or investor. Touted as one of the strongest barreled actions ever made, they have always commanded high prices on the open market. If you have been looking for the right Winchester 21 to hunt, collect, or for investment, but want the added clout of an engraved 2 barrel cased set, then look no further. If you don't like this one, I see another engraved 2 barrel set has just been listed at this site. No documentation and a 14 thousand price tag.
