This was my project gun which would be someone’s great shooter rifle or could be a restocking project.
About the gun metal, I started with 12 GA CZ Bobwhite. It is a very strong action with modern metals and a Greener Crossbolt all of which are perfect as a base for a large caliber DR. The barrels were rifled and contoured by a domestic barrel maker. I enlisted the work of a professional gunsmith to fit the barrels to the original shotgun mono-block, make and fit a new extractor, chamber the barrels, and proof the gun. Essentially all I did was to regulate the barrels and complete the finish work.
I have shot a couple of hundred rounds through the gun. It still locks up tight and shoots great. It has open sights and a Nikon Dangerous Game scope. The DG scope is designed to maximize eye relief for the recoil.
Now about the stock. It looks great but it is only veneer. I modified the original Bobwhite stock to add a cheek piece and pistol grip for the purpose of regulating. For fun I decided to glue some beautiful English Walnut veneer that I bought from Woodrights and liked it so much that I have never wanted to restock it as was my original plan. I have had it for years and even hunted with it in CO With no issues.
Barrels are Cerakoted and the action is in original case colouring.

Added photo’s of the breach. In the last two I touched a little RIG to the standing breach, then closed and opened the barrel to show contact points.
