The Harrington & Richardson Model 171 Springfield Cavalry Carbine was made from 1971 to 1986. The Carbines were a replica of the 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Cavalry carbine and were fitted with a 22 inch heavy barrel, blade front sight, ajustable rear sight, color case-hardened lock plate, buttplate, and receiver, plain straight grip walnut stock, and were chambered in 45-70 Govt.. This particular Carbine was sent to Turnbull Restorations and completely restored, in addition they added a original rear sight, saddle bar, and ring, and correct cartouche stamped on the left side of the stock.
