Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: When this Type 14 Nambu was manufactured in December of 1944 the Japanese were well on their way to losing World War 2 and arms production was being assualted daily by a bombing campaign by the Allies. Nagoya and other military arsenals were making efforts to speed up production with any shortcut they could come up with . This Type 14 Nambu exhibits some of these "shortcuts" and falls into what collectors call a "last ditch" pistol. The glossy high polish blue finish was long gone at this point as well as the strawed finish small parts. The cocking knob design had been simplified a great deal and finally, even the wooden grips were reduced to plain slabs without the grooves seen on the previous models. This particular Type 14 was made in the first month of the grip change. This G.I. trophy bring-back appears to have been fired very little if at all since being brought to the States, and is 100% original and complete. The bore in this Nambu is pristine with sharp rifling. It is bright and clean with no pitting, erosion, or defects of any kind. The original factory finish is in very good condition rating 95%, one has to remember that these were dull looking when they left the factory with little to no polishing. It shows some small handling marks and some very small spots of thinning/oxidation, but nothing major that hurts the overall clean look of this Type 14. The original grips are in great shape with no cracks, repairs, or chipping. They are both numbered to the gun and show only minor handling marks and a groove from the safety lever (common on these Japanese pistols). This Type 14 comes with one of the original matching serial number magazines that is in excellent condition. Everything on this Nambu is 100% functional and works like the day it left the factory 74 years ago. When we acquired it we did a complete detailed field strip and cleaning and all of the parts that should be numbered are numbered, and all of the numbers match including the firing pin. This Pacific Theatre war trophy would be an excellent addition to any gun collection and an excellent investment.
