Custom Mauser Rifle in 257 Roberts Commercial Mauser action with custom 24” sightless barrel (maker unknown) chambered in the classic 257 Roberts. Action features Dakota bolt shroud with M70 Winchester type 3 position safety, jeweled bolt and follower, hinged floorplate with release inside trigger guard, fully adjustable trigger, and blind rear tang screw. Caliber engraved on barrel hub. Matt bluing by Bedeaux Gun Shop of Albuquerque who did much of legendary Dale Goens’ metal work. Stock appears to be Myrtlewood. Monte Carlo style buttstock with double shadow cheekpiece, streamline Ebony forend tip, 13 1/2” LOP over a .6” Pachmayr Olde English black pad. Sling eyes on stock. Checkered steel pistol grip cap. Ebony insert framing the ejector box. Fill in checkering that harmonizes well with stock lines, wrapping around the forearm with ribbons. Hand rubbed linseed oil finish. Leupold 3-9x40 variable matte finish scope in Redfield rings with one piece Redfield base. Base and rings blued with other metal so all matching finish. Test fired only, in as new condition.
