Here we have a wonderful example of a late 19th century Eley cartridge display from England’s Golden Age of Double guns. This is a display of military and sporting cartridges that would have been exhibited at gun shops and sporting stores in the late 1800’s, showing all of the cartridges and components offered by Eley Cartridge Co. measuring 25 ½” wide by 31” tall, it houses 131 various cartridges and shotshells, along with 4 primer tins, 6 shot displays, 4 “window” shotgun shells, many examples of wads, and a few over shot labels. The lettering on the shotshells is crisp and legible and all cartridges remain intact on the board. The board itself Is in excellent original condition. Cartridge boards from days gone by are a fine piece of history to hang in your gun room or to add to your firearms collection. They have gone up in value over the last 10 years, so they are a good place to house some of your discretionary money while adding a touch of class to your home or office. These do not come up for sale very often, especially these larger boards from the 1800’s, and certainly not in this fine condition. Thanks for looking.
