BELGIAN Antique DOUBLE BARREL Percussion Shotgun
Engraved with Very Nice Twist Barrels
Here we present an antique Belgian Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun, made in the late-19th Century in Liege, Belgium. The bores are about 24 Gauge with the left muzzle measuring .59-inches and the right .58-inches. Length of pull from the rear of the butt stock to the front trigger is 13-3/8 inches. This would have been a very petite shotgun for hunting small game in the late-1800s. The lock, ramrod tube, trigger guard, and butt plate are engraved. There is a small silver initial placard at the wrist. The bottom of the barrels bear Belgian proof markings.
The overall condition is very good. The twist pattern on the barrels is still very strong. The markings and engravings are clear. The bores are smooth and in good shape. The stock is in great shape. The left hammer is a replacement and the right has a small repair. The action on this shotgun is excellent.
