Description:
This Colt Model 1873 SAA Civilian revolver comes with Colt factory archive letter, stating that it was shipped to "H & D Folsom Arms Company", New York, New York. in a shipment of 50 like arms. The letter confirms that it was shipped with factory blued finish. Stocks and Barrel length not specified, but usually indicates 7 1/2" Barrel. with Walnut stocks. Serial #33423 . Manufactured in 1876. The revolver is chambered for .45 Colt. The top of the barrel reads “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO./HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.” The left side of the frame is marked “PAT.SEPT.19.1871/JULY 2.72. /JAN 19.75”. Rhe left side of trigger guard marked ".45 CAL."
The overall condition is blue/brown patina finish. Shows some remnants of "case coloring" on the frame and hammer. Has a few small marks in metal finish. Markings are clear and legible. All serial numbers match, including the cylinder, which bears the last 4 digits "3423", of the serial number. The original walnut grip is in very good condition, showing handling marks and some sharp edge wear and small losses on leading lower edges. .The 7.5" barrel is numbered to the revolver and bore is very good, showing strong rifling.
