The marketplace has evolved over the last decade where the “purist collector” has been giving way to the “collector/shooter”.  The essential difference it that today we shoot our Fox guns, many purist collectors admire them only.  The more practical collector/shooters often look at the Fox Sterlingworths as their first gun, and that is very wise as the Sterlingworth is the same high-quality gun as the A.H. Fox high grade gun internally and mechanically, just less decoration.  Sterlingworth 12ga. guns are prolific, with tens of thousands made and over 100 to choose from for sale at any one time.  So how do you choose what to buy as a Fox enthusiast that likes to shoot?  Many look for valuable but less often seen features.  Few Sterlingworth guns had ejectors, and many shooters want them, so that enters in to the search.  Sterlingworth 12ga. guns produced during the first 2 years of production had exposed hinge pins much like the Parker frames always have and were referred to as “pin guns” in the Fox crowd.  Few were made so the Pin Guns become a focus for some.  Additionally, the 1910 to 1912 guns were finished to a higher degree as Ansley H. Fox was still at the helm.  So…hinge pin guns with ejectors are a very hard gun to find.  Now, how about a pair of consecutively numbered ejector Sterlingworth Pin Guns?  That would be a true focus for the collector and the shooter, as the opportunity to find such a pair will likely happen only one time…this time.  We have here Sterlingworth 12ga. ejector pin guns serial numbers 60047 and 60048 built in 1912, both with 30” barrels, straight stocks with the same dimensions, both mechanically excellent and ready to hunt or compete in the clays games.  We are not British, so having two identically choked guns is not useful here in the States.  The owner of the guns smartly choked one gun Cyl/Skeet for the close-in game, and the other set IM/F for sporting clays, trap, and heavier game at a distance.  Both guns are sound and similar in condition.  The guns were restocked to be the same modern shooting dimensions with nicely figured European walnut.  The guns are cased in a motor style case that is custom fit to the guns.  The specifications are laid out in the tables below.  Here is your opportunity to own a very desirable set of Fox guns set up for all your 12 bore shooting needs, consecutively numbered with ejectors and matching stock dimensions.  It won’t be seen again so don’t miss your opportunity to own this value priced pair of Fox guns!  Keep in mind that our full service gunsmithing department can restore any or all parts of these guns to your desires within a short period of time from purchase.  Thanks for looking.
