GERMANIC Antique JAEGER Percussion Musket
Carved & Engraved Hunting Smooth Bore Musket
Here we present an antique Jaeger Musket, made circa the turn of the 19th Century. This .63 caliber smooth bore musket was made with hunting in mind. It is a very handy length & weight for carrying through the woods while stalking. It features floral carving on the stock just behind the breech. The brass trigger guard is nicely engraved. The stock is nicely shaped with a generous cheek piece for well-aimed shots. Fragments of the original leather sling are still attached.
The overall condition is fair. The metal surfaces are very dark with age. The stock shows some wear but remains solid. The fore end cap is absent. The ramrod is a replacement. The rear sight is absent. The smooth bore is in good shape, dark and dusty. The action is not currently functional.
