Custom Roy Vail M98 Mauser in 270 Winchester. 22” sporter weight sightless barrel fit and chambered by Vail, VG bore. Low swing safety for scope clearance, jeweled bolt, checkered bolt knob. Engraved floorplate by Vail. Classic style French Walnut stock with cheekpiece, point pattern checkering that wraps around forearm, connecting at top of grip with Roy Vail stamped in uncheckered oval. 13 ¾” LOP over a horn buttplate, Rosewood forend tip, sling swivels on stock. Leupold Vari X II 2-7 variable power scope with duplex reticle mounted in Redfield rings and one piece base. Overall good to very good condition with light handling marks on stock and little bluing wear. A fine example of work from one of the early American gunmakers. More photos available on request.
