Description:
Iver Johnson Hercules .410 Bore – EJECTORS, LIKE NEW, ENGLISH STOCK

Description:
Iver Johnson Hercules .410 Bore
EJECTORS, LIKE NEW, ENGLISH STOCK

General Specs: Iver Johnson, Year 1930, .410 Gauge, 6lbs 2oz, SxS
Serial Number: 959E

Now I know that the Iver Johnson Hercules is NOT a Parker, L.C. Smith, or an Ithaca NID.  But Iver Johnson was a maker of well-respected guns in the early days of the 20th century and an important part of America's firearm heritage.  In the world of vintage American doubles, the .410 bore has always been highly sought after and costly.  Of the big 5 makers, only Ithaca, Parker, and L.C. Smith produced the .410, and in miniscule numbers.  To purchase one of the above guns in good factory original condition, the price tag starts at $5000 and in the case of the Parker, exceeds $20,000!   Enter the Iver Johnson Arms and Cycle Works Hercules Grade side by side in .410 bore.  With its case colored frame, checkered walnut stocks, and rust blue barrels it was a quality gun at an affordable price.  This cool little .410, sn959E built in about 1930, is a great example of the Iver Johnson Hercules.  Built on a “BABY FRAME” scaled .410 frame, this one with ejectors and an English style stock, this is a great little .410 double shotgun.  We have completely restored this gun from butt to muzzle.  We Ultrasonic cleaned and inspected the inside of this gun (makes it a VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90 DAY WARRANTY), and it is a very well made, well designed little boxlock with quality forged action parts.  Turnbull Restorations did the case color, and the gun has been lubricated and reassembled ready for another 80 years of service.  It is very hard to find these little .410’s with desirable ejectors and straight hand stock, so this gun is special and very attractive.  An affordable .410 vintage American double for sure.  The wood has been nicely restored, not a split or chip anywhere in the wood.  A great little gun for your shooting fun and a real find for your collection.  An honest gun like this will always be desirable and a good investment.  Thanks for looking!
