Guys over the years I have owned most every Weatherby rifle ever produced. If I were to own only one Weatherby---I can't see that happening-- this would be it.
This is a very early Classic model, 26 inch medium weitht barrel---let me say that so many Weatherby rifles have a 24 inch light weight barrel, the problem is that to get the full factory performance one needs the 26 in barrel--- semi gloss bluing, the stock is dark brown California walnut with not a lot of fancy grain, with the Weatherby gloss finish and very nice hand checkering. The fit between the forend and the barrel is as tight as I have ever seen. Nice black Weatherby recoil pad. There is no fancy rosewood forend with white spacer and the same with the grip cap. Just a great hunting rifle in probably the best North American big game caliber ever made.
I have a rather rare Weathreby Premier scope mounted that seems to be a good combination. I purchased the gun new and have only shot a few rounds down the barrel.
