Description:
Parker GHE 20 Gauge – 30” BARREL, FACTORY 3” CHAMBERS, HANG TAG

Description:
Parker GHE 20 Gauge SxS
30" BARREL, FACTORY 3" CHAMBERS, HANG TAG

General Specs: Parker, Year 1920, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 9oz, Side-by-Side
Serial Number: 191194

In the world of vintage American double shotguns, Parker Brothers reigns supreme and is synonymous with classic upland double guns.  The GH Grade is the first level of Parker with game scene engraving and is a low production gun with only 990 twenty-gauge guns made with Parker Special Steel barrels, only about 650 made with ejectors, only 138 made with 30” barrels, and only a HANDFUL IN THE WORLD WITH 3” FACTORY CHAMBERS AND THE ORIGINAL FACTORY HANG TAG.  This fine Parker, sn191194 made in 1920 and built on an “0” frame, has excellent mechanics (VFI CERTIFIED, SEE BELOW), awesome barrels with excellent bores, tight ribs, lots of wall thickness, and they fit tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face with the top lever well right of center.  Included is an intact copy of the factory hang tag showing clearly how the gun shipped including the factory 3” chambers.  The lettering and engraving remain crisp and clear, and the screws are all clean and clocked properly along the axis of the gun.  The triggers are crisp and break at 3.75lbs of pull front, and 5lbs. pull on the rear.  The original factory wood has gorgeous feather crotch figure with a hand-rubbed oil finish, superb wood-to-metal fit, and near perfect checkering.  It is hard to find a vintage American double gun that is 98 years old with great shooting dimensions, but this one has14 ¼” LOP to the factory dog’s head buttplate, 2 1/2” drop at heel, 1 ½ drop at the comb, and neutral cast which is very modern and shootable.  We stripped the action and forend iron to the smallest part, cleaned the parts in the Ultrasonic cleaner, inspected all for function and integrity, lubricated and reassembled the gun.  This is a “VFI CERTIFIED GUN” and we have a 90-day mechanical warranty on all such guns we sell.  We did not case color the receiver as some people like them natural as it shows the engraving better.  We can have Turnbull case colors on the gun within 6 weeks for an added cost and the gun would look like new.  I like her just the way she is, as the engraving is very attractive with the naturally worn receiver.  This Parker balances dead on the hinge pin and feels amazing in hand.  What a gorgeous investment quality Parker for your upcoming fall hunts and just in time for you to enjoy at your favorite gun club for some clay targets to warm you up for the season.  Priced to sell, so don’t hesitate or she will be gone.  Thanks for looking!
