A very desirable Winchester lever action model 53 with the solid frame and chambered in the very rare .44-40 caliber. Approximately 25,000 of the Model 53’s were made and chambered in three calibers. The .44-40 is the rarest by far. This model was made from 1924-1932. This gun was made very early in the production with a serial number of 535. The gun is in very good condition and has been in my collection for the last fifty plus years. The barrel retains most of its bluing and the receiver has a moderate amount of its original bluing. The wood is in very good condition and does not have any gouged, splits or cracks. This is an all original Winchester that would fit nicely into any Winchester collection. I offer a three day non-firing inspection period and always want the buyer to be satisfied with their purchase. The gun will be packed correctly and shipped in a hard case with insurance to your FFL dealer in the continental United States for $55 (California is extra because I have to ship through my local dealer). This gun requires a C&R or FFL license for transfer. I ship the following day after the payment arrives and provide tracking information.
