Description:
Fully documented, rare, historical CSS Alabama London LeMat revolver owned by Confederate Lt. Simeon W. Cummings, 3rd Assistant Engineer of the Confederate Raider CSS Alabama.  This 41 cal./20ga revolver, S/N 8584 is mentioned in the book "LeMatt, The Man, The Gun" on pgs 74-77 and illustrated in color on pg. 100.  Marked on top of the barrel "LeMat and Girard's Patent London" and with Birmingham proof marks at each nipple recess and the number 18 (18 tons) under the shot barrel. The gun is not in complete working condition but is void of any pitting, and remains in the same condition as when discovered by Val Forgett, owner of Navy Arms Co. and returned to the States. Killed while on a hunting outing in South Africa on 3rd August 1863, the Lt.'s gun remained there until located by Mr. Forgett.  Two books, "Two Years on the Alabama" and "LeMat, The Man, The Gun" accompany this great Conferate Navy relic. $29,500.  John 443-952-7165.
