Holland & Holland --- Royal Sidelock Double Rifle --- .500-450 3 1/4" Nitro Express. 26" SxS chopper-lump barrels with fine silver bead ramp front sight and folding ivory twilight bead, smooth swamped rib, sling eye, raised matted quarter rib with one platinum-lined standing express sight. 14 1/2" pull from checkered, articulated front trigger to Silvers red rubber recoil pad. 1/2" cast-off. Figured English walnut stocks with lever-release splinter forend, steel trapdoor pistol grip cap, classic point-pattern checkering, teardrops, beaded pancake cheekpiece, classic comb, vacant gold oval and rear sling swivel. Classic Holland & Holland Royal scroll engraved receiver with concealed third fastener, bushed firing pins with retaining setscrews, silent extractors, manual top tang safety with SAFE inlaid in gold, triggerguard tang extending to grip cap and top tang extending over comb. Back-action sidelocks with gold-line cocking indicators and intercepting sears. London proofed for 70 grains cordite and 480 grain bullets. Weight: 10lbs, 5 1/2oz. Built 1906 as No.2 of a pair with all components so numbered in gold. 98% proper barrel re-blue and 40% original casehardening colors. Barrels tight on the face, and with excellent bores. Stock heads up tight to action. In maker's leather-trimmed canvas covered trunk case with snap caps, oil bottle, cleaning accessories and trade label.
