Has double triggers and auto ejectors. Serial number 2418 made in 1904. Overall weight is 6lb even. Harkom was considered one of Scotland’s premier gunmakers at the time. *** Nicely figured European walnut straight hand stock with blank initial plate and splinter forearm. Stock has a 1” wood extension with checkered butt. Stock dimensions are 14-1/8” by 1-1/2” by 2”. Cast off for the right hand shot. Checkering shows some wear. There are some handling marks on the stock and the border of the forearm. *** The 28” sleeved steel barrels are nitro proofed for 1oz loads and chambered for 2-1/2” shotshells. The barrels are topped by the original concave game style rib which is inscribed “Joseph Harkom & Son 31 George Street Edinburgh”. The barrels are choked Improved Cylinder and Modified. Minimum wall thickness for the left barrel is 0.027. For the right barrel it is 0.035. The barrel bluing is thinning in some places. Gun is mechanically sound. *** This Scottish boxlock is great handling and lethal. Easy to carry in tough upland terrain. It’s the only one we’ve ever seen in 16 bore.
