Description:
This is a "Triangle 26" factory Sino-Soviet Norinco Paratrooper SKS. The Paratrooper SKS was a commercial variant produced for the U.S. market of the military SKS with a shortened 16" inch barrel. Most were made out of newly manufactured parts but apparently some were factory altered and refurbished original military production. This particular gun has an early serial number known as a Sino-Soviet SKS, a letter prefix 4-digit serial number "i8165" indicating that the rifle was originally made in 1959 as a military issue weapon. All of the numbered parts match the receiver including the bolt, trigger guard, magazine housing, and top cover. This is a spike bayonet model, with the original spike bayonet cut down, re-tipped, and refinished to accomadate the shorter barrel. This is a really cool Chinese SKS. The original factory refurbished finish looks great and the bore is minty and bright. The rifling still looks new and there is no pitting or erosion visible. The stock is in excellent shape overall with no cracks or repairs but has a few dings and scrapes on it from rough storage. The worst of these are pictured in close-up photos in the listing. These Paratrooper SKS variations are very handy and tough guns and would be great for all purpose farm/vehicle gun, and with the rate these seem to be increasing in value would be a great addition to any collection as an investment as well. With cheap surplus ammo widely available and minimal recoil they make great range/plinking guns as well. This one won't last long.
