SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1855 PERCUSSION PISTOL CARBINE W/ORIGINAL STOCK. .58 caliber rifled 12” barrel with Springfield proofs at the breech and tang date stamped 1855.Lock correctly dated 1856 and stamped “US/SPRINGFIELD”. Federal Eagle stamp on the tape primer door. Butt cap numbered at the back with a tiny numeral “8”. 100% original and complete and correct to the last screw. Stock with faint Government Inspectors cartouche on left side. Shoulder stock 100% original and complete as well. Small number “4” stamped on the tang as well as the number “78” in small numerals. Superior example for one of these with nice metal patina and very crisp markings. Excellent stock and shoulder stock with forend of stock with old letter “A” carved on left side. Lock in working order including the tape primer. Good though dark bore with well defined rifling. Rarely seen this nice.
