R. JOHNSON U.S. MODEL 1836 FLINTLOCK PISTOL. .54 cal. 8 ½” smoothbore barrel with “JH/P” Government proofs at the left breech. Lock stamped “U.S./R. JOHNSON/MIDDN. CONN./1840”. 100% original and in superior condition with most of the original case hardening color on the lock and hammer. Trigger with most of the blue. Metal a soft original patinated grey. Perfect markings. Excellent wood with the original finish and two mint inspector’s cartouches. All original parts down to the last screw most of which have original blue finish. Working order and excellent bore. Extra nice example priced reasonably.
