ORIGINAL COLT 3RD MODEL MARTIAL .44 CAL. DRAGOON REVOLVER CA. 1853. 6 shot percussion revolver with 7 1/8” barrel stamped “ADDRESS SAML. COLT NEW-YORK CITY”. Cylinder with “DRAGOON AND INDIAN FIGHT” scene. All matching in the 12xxx range and 100% original with exception of the wedge which is a hand made replacement along with the screw. Excellent markings and very good cylinder scene. Frame stamped “COLT’S /PATENT/U.S.” and U.S. Govt. Sub-Inspectors stamps on various parts. Left grip flat with faint but visible Inspectors cartouche as well as two notches. Very good over all with grey patina on metal and mellow brass straps. Grips with the original patinated finish. Left flat with very old repair at toe. Excellent working order and very good bore. Priced reasonably for an original Martial Dragoon.
