Description:
Parker GH 16 Gauge Side by Side
“0” FRAME, 5LBS. 110Z.

General Specs: Parker, Year 1902, 16 Gauge, 5lbs 11oz, SxS
Serial Number: 110783

There are some guns that just seem special, and a Parker 16ga. on an "0" frame (20ga. frame) is just such a gun.  More than a 1/2 pound lighter than a typical Parker 16ga, the "0" frame 16 is highly sought after by today's upland hunter.  They are not common, and to find one on the nicely decorated GH Grade format is a treat.  Such a small percentage of Parker 16ga. guns were built on the 20ga. frame that there are likely less than 30 or so Parker GH 16ga. guns ever made on the 20ga. frame!  Very rare indeed!  This Parker GH, sn110783 made in 1902, is stunning with 90% factory damascus pattern, 70% factory case colors (fading), excellent bores, perfect screws and wood-to-metal fit, original wood finish still strong, fine checkering and borders still excellent, no cracks or repairs, superb mechanics…no excuses!  The barrels are gorgeous Damascus steel with healthy barrel wall thicknesses, and they remain tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face with the opening lever still right of center.  This little Parker was a special order, ultra-light gun as demonstrated by the barrel weight stamp showing “2-11” indicating barrel weight “in the rough” before being fit to the action.  These are the lightest 16-gauge barrels I have witnessed on a Parker and explains how they got the gun to weigh 5lbs. 11oz. with the dog’s head buttplate (6LBS. WITH THE SILVERS PAD).  The Parker Gun Collectors “factory letter” that comes with this gun documents that it was special ordered as a light gun and Parker met the request.  The present LOP is 13 3/8” to the buttplate and she may have been ordered that way.  We have fitted a genuine Silvers pad from England to the gun to bring the LOP to 14 1/8” for those that need that standard LOP.  We have offered the gun both ways, with the pad and with the plate.  The plate will fit right back on the butt stock with no fitting required the way we did it.   This would be a great gun for a smaller statured gunner utilizing the butt plate, as the weight, balance, and stock dimensions are perfect for those under 5’ 8” in height.  With the correct Silvers pad the gun will fit most shooters that are 6’ tall or less.  Presently choked a light F/F, we can alter the chokes to your liking.  What a great carry gun for upland birds and the vintage clay target games.  You could walk the fields all day long and not be fatigued from carrying a heavy gun at the end of the day.  This is an investment grade Parker that you can be proud of, shoot to your hearts content, and pass down to the next generation ready for another 116 years of service.   We have priced the gun to sell, so don’t miss out!  Thanks for looking.
