Description:
The 6.5x68 magnum is my personal favorite cartridge because of it's unique character. The power of this cartridge is amazing and it's unique and elegant. I've been purchasing every Mannlicher Schoenauer that I have come across in this cartridge and they are few and far between. Especially given the prices are really high, you now have the opportunity to have one for yourself and it's a beauty. I picked this magnum up a couple of years ago from an old-timer in Texas who was no longer able to hunt. I believe he used it for deer and hogs, which are easy game for such a powerful, flat shooting cartridge. I have taken bull elk, easily with 150 grain Nosler bullets. The ammo, brass and dies are still available on the internet and I do have some to sell if you are interested as well. The double-set triggers are in fine working order and all of the metal is in good shape. The barrel is crisp and shiny with no signs of trouble but there are normal scuffs and such from being hunted in the field. Likewise, the wood is in similar shape with no cracks or problems other than the typical dents and dings from handling. This rifle has Steyr swing-off mounts which are very desirable including a Kahles scope from Austria. The scope uses European rail mounts so the glass could easily be upgraded to something more modern if you wanted to make this a contemporary sporter. Either way, this rifle if a beauty and the embossed sling from Germany is also included.
