About Us: I've been collecting Steyr Mannlicher rifles for 20 years with a flair for magnum and other exotic calibers. I also like interesting craftsmanship and unique pieces.

Description:
Here's a hard to find .358 caliber that is ready to go for your next hunt. This neat rifle has been customized with gold plating on several of the trim pieces. I thought about dipping and re-bluing them back to original but this one grew on me and I quite like it this way. As you can see, it has a Pachmayr low-swing scope mount but is also drilled and tapped for Redfield style bases. I have a couple of scopes that would work great with this existing setup if you are interested otherwise it would be easy to find one. Likewise, the Redfield bases are still readily available and would be a decent option as well. The rifle is in really good shape including the Model 56 peep sights which are usually very expensive and hard to find, upwards of $350 each if you're lucky enough to find them. I am also including the fine leather sling as seen in the pictures. The triggers function perfectly and metal is in great shape across the entire rifle. The bore is fantastic and difficult to think that this rifle has actually been fired very much. There is some minor fading on the gold plating of the triggers but hardly noticeable. The wood is also in very good shape with just a few compression marks from handling. However, there is a small cosmetic crack on the side where the side mount was fit. It looks like the gunsmith cut the wood a little too thin. This does not affect the function of the rifle in any way and would be easily glued and touched up for a nicer fit and finish. I believe this rifle came from an estate in Louisiana and would have been a fantastic hog or deer gun. Who knows, maybe it was used to thump an alligator or two. Ha.

Buyer pays $40 for shipping and extra for insurance if desired. FFL, certified funds and all of the usual. I reserve the right to cancel this listing at any time so please enquire before making assumptions about availability and purchase.
