Description:
French Box Lock Percussion Pistol. This is a high quality pistol with folding trigger and fine engraving. Gun has a turnoff barrel and ebony stock. There is no maker’s name. The top flat of the barrel is marked “Porte” G & E 120 Metres. Translated: the range of this is 120 meters. We assume this was to give the owner some confidence if making a long range shot. Caliber is .50 and barrel is 3” length and 7 ¼” overall. Bore is twist rifled and bore is excellent. Very well made French Pocket Pistol.
