Description:
Serial #B6672, .30-06, 22" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a nice looking rifle that retains 90-92% of the original parkerized finish that has silvered at the muzzle, along the projecting edges, and on the bearing surfaces of the receiver around the ejection port and operating handle slot. The right side of the receiver has the small Dutch colonial five-pointed star acceptance stamp, and there are some spots of mild freckling scattered about. The rear sight leaf spring reinforcing plate has a sighting groove added, perhaps by a past user, and retains most of an armory-added black enamel finish. The walnut forend and buttstock are in very good-near fine condition with scattered minor handling marks and surface blemishes throughout, although there are some plastic wood repairs around an older armory repair with four dowels at the magazine swell on both sides of the buttstock. There is a straight crack along the underside to the rear of the magazine housing, but the repair has stabilized it. The rifle is mechanically excellent, and comes with a period correct, Boyt 1942 dated leather sling installed. This is a fine example of a desirable 1941 Johnson, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
