Description:
Serial #26590, .45 ACP/Auto Rim, 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and ejector, with the metal retaining 97-98% of the original blue finish. There is mild silvering at the muzzle, some thin freckling here and there, and a light turn-ring on the cylinder. The hammer, trigger, and lanyard swivel retain about 60-70% of their original color case-hardening with some freckling on the edges of the trigger, and bright wear on the balance. The smooth walnut grips are not numbered, and have scattered small handling marks and minor surface blemishes in the original oil finish on both sides, and the US property mark has been removed. The lock-up is rock-solid, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a handsome example of a Smith & Wesson Model 1917, and rates fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
