Description: Serial #2384 / 11509, 4mm RF, 7" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a handsome rifle, built to resemble a Martini-action schutzen rifle, but with a very short barrel loaded via the spring-actuated pivot assembly on the underside of the otherwise solid “barrel". About 30-40% original blue remains on the “C. STIEGELE MUNCHEN" marked barrel assembly, with the balance turned to a mellow plum-brown, and the original barrel sling swivel has been removed. The receiver retains about 75-80% of the original bright color case-hardening with some mild gray fading and thin freckling along the edges. The case colors continue onto the original rear aperture sight. The ornately carved, checkered walnut forend has a short, with-the-grain crack at the tip on the right side, and scattered minor handling marks and minor blemishes. The buttstock is typically complex with thumb-rest, cheek-piece, and hooked buttplate. The wood here also has minor handling marks and blemishes, with a few tiny chips along the edges of some of the projections, as well as a stable, hairline crack at the butt on the right side. The action functions flawlessly, and the rifle rates fine condition overall.
