Description:
NSN, .50-70, 32 1/2" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has mild freckling within the grooves, and a few spots of dark pitting about midway down. This rifle has an 1863 dated lockplate with the metal having an overall pewter gray patina with scattered spots of freckling, mainly near the muzzle, and on the receiver and lock. The breech block lock-up is firm while the action is tight and functions flawlessly; the hammer is held secure at both half-cock and full-cock. The walnut stock has an added oil finish over unsanded wood with numerous minor surface marks and handling blemishes; the inspector cartouches are slightly softened, but still fully legible. The rifle comes with a correct metal ramrod, and is in about fine condition overall. Antiqu
