This handsome revolver has all matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, extractor, yoke, and barrel, and has retained 98-99% of the original blue finish with some trace silvering at the muzzle, and some very mild freckling on the toe of the butt. The cylinder has a very mild turn-ring on the rear of the cylinder, while the hammer and trigger have nearly all of their bright original color case-hardening remaining with some thin silvering fading along the edges of the trigger. The walnut Magna grips, original and numbered to the gun on the interior, are also in excellent condition with only a few very minor marks and some minor flattening of the points. The action functions flawlessly, and the lock-up is tight. A 2017 S&W factory letter is included that lists a ship date of November 9, 1954 to the Fiscal Officer, Army & Air Force Exchange Service, Transportation Officer, Seattle, WA. The gun is listed as having been part of a 48 unit shipment, all in identical configuration, at a cost of $67.22 each. This is a splendid post-war .357 Magnum, in excellent condition, and would make a great addition to any collection.
