Description:
Available for purchase, this is most likely a Winchester Class 4 Special Order Model 70 that has been re stocked in the Weatherby style.  Serial number dates this rifle to 1960.  The bolt is electro pencil numbered to the rifle.  Original Featherweight 26" sightless barrel, this rifle is topped with a Leupold M8-4x that has turned purple.  It has a duplex reticle and is in Redfield mounts.  Chambered in 300 H&H Magnum, the bore is strong and excellent.  Finish is original period Winchester blue.  The stock is definitely done in the Weatherby style, which was very popular in the 1960's, with hand checkering, a strong high comb, contrasting grip cap, fore end tip and Pachmayr buttpad.  The trigger is fantastic, light and crisp.  This is a rare rifle with a lot of collector potential.  We do not have any documentation or box.  Note that this rifle has been hunted, so has some minor scuffs and blue wear on the barrel and at the muzzle.  In order to protect your investment, all long guns over $500 must be shipped in a hard case.  Minimum shipping at this level is $55 and includes the hard case.  Shipping cost could increase depending on value or weight of the firearm.  For long guns less than $500, we still recommend the purchase of a hard case, again to protect your investment.  These numbers are for shipping to the lower 48.  There is also a 3% surcharge for customers using a credit card on internet sales.  Thank you!
