Description:
This Winchester Model 97 "Military Trench" pump action shotgun comes in 12 Ga. 2 3/4 inch chamber with a 21 inch ventilated heat shield handguard barrel in fixed CYL choke. It has the ordnance bomb on top of the barrel at the receiver. Left side receiver has "US" and the ordnance bomb. Left side buttstock has "GHD" and ordnance crossed cannons. Around serial number range 950,000 the barrel ventilated heat shield handguard was changed to a 4 row and this gun was manufactured in 1950 with serial number 951695. This shotgun comes with sling swivels and has the bayonet lug. The Model 1897 was an evolution of the Winchester Model 1893 designed by John Moses Browning. The Model 1897 became the most popular shotgun on the American market and established a standard of performance by which other kinds and makes of shotguns were judged. This model is an external hammer shotgun lacking a trigger disconnector that means you can hold the trigger down while cycling the pump action.
