Classic DWM 1906 American Eagle 30 Luger in outstanding original condition. This century (plus) old example rates an excellent 98 percent luxurious rust blue finish and retains a remarkable 98 percent of the handsomely contrasting straw finish on the requisite small parts. The excellent shiny bore is commensurate with the overall extra fine condition of this iconic firearm. A portion of the interior remains correctly in the white and appears untouched since new. The appropriate numbered parts are of course matching throughout and the wood bottom magazine is properly without markings. The presence of several small blemishes on the barrel left side serve to confirm the authenticity of the exceptional rich finish of this near perfect American Eagle Luger.
These very early models are considered by many to be among the most elegant looking variations of the Luger pistol by virtue of the slightly longer and more slender barrel chambered in the original 30 Luger caliber. The American Eagle seal centered over the chamber was an effort by DWM to encourage commercial sales specifically in the United States. The extractor on these variants uniquely reveal the word "loaded" on the side of the component instead of the normal "geladen" found on standard production Lugers.
