Description:
This is a Beautifully Engraved Detective special 2'' Serial # 428,685 pre war mfg in 1934 ,shipped in 1936 to Sutcliffe in Louisville KY. as the factory letter says. Later engraved by Dennis Reigel. It has( full )coverage and shows a mans fantastic ability to engrave..It was shipped to me in a finish called french grey, which I believe is a light coat of a grey liquid to accent the engraving. Its fragile and through handling has gotten very thin. It was applied to a gun in the white. I polished it lightly and now call it in the white. I think it is a wonderfull color and really shows off the engraving. The grips are Ivory anf have a great fit and grain. The bore is very nice as well as the cylinder.I functions in single and double action perfectly and locks up solid. Its a beauty and is in like new condition for a piece made in 1934.
