BRILLIANT WWI OR WW1 COLT U.S. 1911 .45ACP PISTOL DIRECT FROM LOCAL FAMILY OF AEF PRIVATE, CIRCA 1917. Serial number "185XXX". 98% original factory blue with original dipped blued magazine. On right side of slide there is some discoloration from solvent that dripped from breach typical of long term storage. Original checkered wood grips crisp. Unturned screws. Correct P/H vertically stamped barrel. Perfect working order. Couple of minor scratches on slide but 100 years old(see photos). From local family (Loudoun Cty, Va.) whos grandfather was issued this piece. Put away all those years ago and never took out. Springfield research records indicate it was was shipped out October of 1917. Prime example from one family.
